Description

Senior Electronics Engineer Manufacturing

Location: South Norfolk

Starting Salary: GBP50,000

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Mon Thurs 8 00, Fri 8 30)

A well-established manufacturing business in South Norfolk is seeking an experienced Electronics Engineer to join their engineering team. This is a technically focused role requiring a highly capable engineer who can take ownership of complex fault finding, root cause analysis, and improvement of legacy production equipment.

This position will suit an engineer with strong experience working on older or obsolete machinery, who is confident diagnosing complex electronic faults and implementing long-term engineering solutions.

Alongside technical troubleshooting, the successful candidate will also support major Capex investment projects, providing technical input and guidance based on previous project experience.

Due to the complexity of the equipment and the current demands of the engineering team, this role requires someone who can operate at a high level from day one with minimal supervision or training.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out in-depth root cause analysis on complex electronic faults across production equipment

Diagnose and troubleshoot issues on legacy and obsolete control systems and machinery

Provide expert technical support to resolve recurring or critical equipment failures

Support Capex investment projects, offering technical guidance and engineering expertise

Assist with equipment upgrades, modifications, and long-term reliability improvements

Work closely with production and engineering teams to maintain high equipment availability

Requirements

Significant experience as an Electronics Engineer within a manufacturing or industrial environment

Proven ability to carry out advanced fault finding and root cause analysis

Experience working with older or legacy equipment where documentation or support may be limited

Previous involvement in engineering projects or Capex investment programmes

Ability to work independently and provide technical leadership when required

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
