Description

We're looking for a skilled Manufacturing Engineer / CNC Programmer to support new projects and improve existing production processes. This role focuses on creating and optimising CNC programmes (3, 4, & 5 axis), improving efficiency, and ensuring high-quality, cost-effective manufacturing.

You'll be involved in setting up new products, refining current processes, and making sure everything runs smoothly on the shop floor.

Key Responsibilities

Create and develop CNC programmes, including tooling, setup sheets, and proving programmes into productionImprove manufacturing methods to achieve the best quality at the lowest costManage and maintain all process elements (tooling, fixtures, CNC programmes, routing, etc.)Work closely with Quality to ensure inspection requirements are built into processesSelect appropriate materials and tooling to meet production needsIdentify cost-saving opportunities and support efficiency improvementsDeliver projects on time and within budgetSupport process documentation and standardisationAssist with new product introduction and lifecycle planningEnsure processes meet quality system requirementsStay up to date with new manufacturing technologies and suggest improvementsSupport problem-solving activities, including root cause analysis and corrective actionsExperience Required

Strong understanding of engineering drawings and specificationsExperience with CNC machining (milling and turning)Knowledge of tooling and machine selectionExperience with CAD/CAM software for CNC programmingBackground in precision engineering (aerospace or similar highly regulated industry preferred)Familiarity with lean manufacturing principlesAbility to manage workload and meet deadlinesConfident communicator across teams and stakeholdersQualifications

Engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent)Experience in a manufacturing or production environmentCAD/CAM training or certificationDesirable
