We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, Whessoe Engineering, for a Section Head Process / Process Safety / Instrumentation / Electrical to join their engineering delivery team based in Darlington.

This position is responsible for providing technical leadership and line management to a multidisciplinary engineering team, ensuring the delivery of safe, compliant and cost–effective design solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership and line management to a team of approximately seven engineers Coordinate engineering resources across both project delivery and tender activities Ensure designs are delivered in line with time, cost and quality expectations Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards and legislative requirements Collaborate with project management and other engineering disciplines to resolve technical challenges Support business development activities, including client engagement and technical discussions Drive continuous improvement across engineering processes and standards Mentor, coach and manage team performance Requirements

Chartered Engineer status or equivalent professional qualification Demonstrable experience within process or process safety engineering in hazardous process plant environments Experience leading or supervising engineering teams within project delivery settings Strong knowledge of European and North American engineering codes and standards Excellent leadership, communication and organisational capabilities Preferred Experience

Experience with cryogenic handling and storage systems Knowledge of tank design and associated equipment Experience supporting tendering and business development activities Familiarity with software such as HYSYS and Office 365

This role is well suited to an established engineering leader or a Principal Engineer with line management experience looking to progress into a senior leadership position.
