Description

Experienced Electronics Test Technician required for an electronics manufacturer based in Basildon, Essex. This organisation has over 40 years’ experience and has built a strong reputation for the on-time delivery of printed circuit boards, PCBAs, box builds, and final assemblies.

Job role and scope

As a Test Technician, you play a key part in quality control in production. You will work as part of a test team performing test procedures, compiling data and helping to ensure that all products that they manufacture for their wide- ranging customer portfolio meet the required levels of quality before reaching each customer.

Main responsibilities

1. Operate automatic and manual test equipment to test PCBs and assemblies to given specifications

2. Provide and record accurate test result sheets, sharing relevant findings with Engineering and Quality colleagues to support with continuous improvement to the product or process

3. Read and interpret circuit diagrams of PCBs and assemblies, to assist in fault finding and resolving test failures

4. Maintain equipment used for testing, including regular cleaning, calibration and repair of tools or machines, ensuring they remain in optimal condition for accurate tests

5. Implement changes in testing protocols as required and making any technical and procedural recommendations for improvement.

Skills, knowledge & experience

*

* Previous electronics manufacturing industry experience

* Some knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures

* Full awareness of Health and Safety issues relating to an electrical/electronic test environment

* Experience in the design and assembly of test jigs would be advantageous

* Analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills

* Demonstrates a good eye for detail and works accurately and efficiently

* Good communication skills, both written and verbal

* Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office and other IT systems

* Commitment to professional and vocation development in Engineering.

Salary: Up to £29,000 per annum (dependent on skills & experience)

Full time hours is 37-40 hours per week- Mon to Thurs 07:30 to 16:00 and Fri 07:30 to 12:30

Holiday- 20 days plus Bank Holidays (includes Christmas shutdown), Plus, up to 5 days for long service. Pension scheme- Auto-enrolment 5% + 3% company contributions
