Description

This is an amazing Eberhard Meinel full size modern German double bass. It has a fantastic shape and plays really well and sounds wonderful and gives plenty of sustain. The instrument includes an underwood pickup.

If has a two-piece back. The length of back from button to end pin approx 110cm. The overall length is 190cm. It has a single plate tyrolean bass tuning machines.

I am selling the instrument with a modern soft case. It will also come with a modern stand. I do also have some booklets and sheet music.

The label states that this instrument was crafted under the guidance of the master Eberhard Meinel in the master work sites of 'Musima' in Markneukirchen." The label also reads in English “Made in Germany Democratic Republic”. This suggests that the instrument was made prior to the fall of the Berlin Wall or the date of German reunification on 3 October 1990. Markneukirchen is a former East German city about 3 miles from the Czech border.
