Simple Pleasures sets out to be the Kingston & Surbiton communities favourite dessert shop by choice, not convenience as well as an attraction for sweet tooth dessert & coffee lovers from all areas!

We have various roles available, experience is required for this particular role. With that being said, there are some stand out attributes/ traits we look for during interviews, trial days and probationary period. Our ideal candidate must possess these traits and attributes currently. These play an imperative part in enabling the team and culture we wish to create at Simple Pleasures.

THE SUPER IMPORTANT PART

An ideal Simple Pleasures team members must be the following -

Bubbly personality with positive energy
MUST have experience in previous dessert shop role or similar.
Take initiative whist carrying out the role and able to work under pressure during busier times.
must be flexible as shifts change every 4 / 6 weeks. Minimum contract of 15 hours per week with opportunities for overtime. DO NOT APPLY if you are looking strictly for full time as we cannot guarantee FULL TIME hours.
confident and outgoing

We are seeking a passionate, dedicated and enthusiastic Barista and Dessert star to join our energetic and upbeat team at Simple Pleasures! Within this role, you will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of beverages and pastries, and desserts ensuring that each customer receives exceptional service. You will play a vital role in creating a welcoming atmosphere while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety in a fast paced environment.

Duties

Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks and most importantly desserts.
Maintain cleanliness of the work area, equipment, and utensils in accordance with food safety guidelines.
Assist with food preparation as needed, ensuring that all items are fresh and presented attractively.
Engage with customers in a friendly manner, taking orders accurately and efficiently.
Handle payment transactions and maintain accurate records of sales.
Manage time effectively to ensure prompt service during busy periods.
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations throughout the shift.

Skills

Strong understanding of food safety practices to maintain a hygienic work environment.
Ability to assist in food preparation while adhering to quality standards.
Excellent time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively during peak hours..
A friendly disposition with strong communication skills to engage positively with customers.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £12.90-£14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 30 per week
