Description
Hi
This is a reposted job. Our PA has been given more hours in her other job, so has left us. We wish her all the very best!
Thanks to everyone who applied previously. We truly appreciate your interest. If you have already submitted interest, there’s no need to reapply as we’ll consider your application as part of this process.
We’re looking for a kind, easy-going person to give us a hand for a few hours a week. The job’s mainly housework — things like cleaning, ironing, and making the odd cuppa, toast, or sandwich for Karen, who has disabilities and spends a lot of time sitting down.
It’s not heavy care work — mostly helping around the house and keeping Karen company — but on some days, she may need a wee bit more help with things like washing or dressing.
A driver is essential, as there may occasionally be doctor or hospital appointments to attend. Karen is a wheelchair user when out of the house, so the car will need space for a fold-up chair.
A good sense of humour is a must in our home; laughter’s how we get through the tricky days!
The role also gives Ian (Karen’s husband and main carer) a bit of breathing space to get out to work, so it’s a real help to the household.
We’ve got a friendly cat, so you’ll need to be okay with pets.
Hours: 4 hours a week over the same morning/afternoon. Flexible with days
Couple of things to note from past experience.
This is not a cash-in-hand role. We need to setup a contract and a payroll service
Flexibility is essential. The nature of our lives if that things can chop and change sometimes. I’d rather they didn’t, I’m a creature of habit - but it is what it is !
