Position: Gardener

Location: Near Swaffham, Norfolk

Employment Type and Hours: Full-Time (30-40 hours per week) 7/8am-4pm

Salary: £30,000 per annum

Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Gardener to become part of our client's team, caring for their stunning grounds near Swaffham. This is a full-time role providing an excellent opportunity to work within a varied and attractive outdoor setting for a high-income private household.

We require a polite and diligent individual who can adapt to a dynamic working environment. Whilst the majority of your duties will be outdoors, you may occasionally be asked to help with light household tasks. A full day's paid trial will be conducted with either the general manager or the head gardener of the property.

From time to time, you will be required to travel to another property in London to carry out additional duties. All travel costs will be covered.

Responsibilities:

Perform general garden maintenance, including mowing, pruning, weeding, and planting

Care for lawns, flower beds, shrubs, and trees to maintain a pristine appearance

Propagate plants, manage seasonal planting, and ensure the grounds are visually appealing year-round

Use and maintain gardening tools and machinery safely and effectively

Assist with landscaping projects and development of new garden features

Monitor and maintain plant health, including pest and disease control

Follow sustainable and environmentally friendly gardening practices

Requirements:

Proven experience in gardening, horticulture, or grounds-keeping

Knowledge of plants, seasonal care, and garden maintenance techniques

Qualification and proficiency in using gardening tools and machinery

Strong physical fitness and stamina to perform outdoor tasks in varying weather conditions

A keen eye for detail and a passion for creating and maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, also to be flexible and adaptable

Full driving license (essential, due to the location)
