Location: Worcester

Salary: £29,000 – £39,000 per annum

A precision engineering manufacturer in Worcester is seeking a Technical Author to join their European Engineering Team. Reporting to the Team Leader/Senior Design Manager, this role will be responsible for producing and maintaining high-quality technical documentation to support a range of engineered products and optional equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

Production and ongoing maintenance of Operating Manuals, Maintenance Manuals, Detail Specifications and spare parts lists.

Administration and upkeep of internal technical documentation including assembly instructions, machine manuals, CE technical files and risk assessments.

Ensuring all documentation meets company standards and is delivered within agreed timeframes.

Essential Requirements:

HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in an engineering-related discipline.

Strong written English with excellent attention to detail.

Computer literate with a methodical and systematic approach to work.

Highly conscientious, motivated and able to adapt when required.

Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.

Good communication skills and the ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable Experience:

Engineering background, ideally with exposure to machine tools.

Previous technical writing experience within an engineering setting.

Understanding of CAD systems such as CATIA Composer or CREO Illustrate.

Basic knowledge of French and/or German.

Experience using graphics manipulation software (such as Photoshop or PaintShop).

Competence with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
