About the Role

We are a growing manufacturing business seeking a detail–oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join a Manufacturing business in Gloucester on a permanent basis. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will be responsible for managing the financial activities of multiple European entities.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in a smaller organisation who is looking to expand their skills within a larger, more complex business environment.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain accurate and timely financial records up to trial balance levelManage accounts payable and receivable processesMaintain company ledgers and perform regular reconciliationsComplete multi–currency bank reconciliationsReconcile internal records with third–party statements (e.g. suppliers)Support the preparation of monthly management accountsMonitor debtor ledgers and follow up on outstanding paymentsProcess supplier invoices in a timely and accurate mannerPrepare journals, prepayments, and accrualsAssist with month–end close and periodic reconciliationsHandle VAT returns and EU reporting requirements (including VIES)Respond to customer and supplier queries efficientlySupport year–end processes and liaise with external accounting partnersMaintain accurate filing and document archiving systemsSkills/experience:

Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracyExcellent organisational and time management skillsAbility to prioritise workload and meet deadlinesStrong communication skills (written and verbal)Confident working independently and as part of a teamGood problem–solving abilitiesProficient in Microsoft Office and accounting systemsWillingness to learn new systems and processes
