Description
Enjoy singing and looking for something fun to do?
Our acapella choir is looking for a couple of new members -- male or female.
We've got around 20 people in the group at the moment. .
We like to sing classic rock and pop songs -- we tend to do a lot from the 80s, but also plenty from the 70s, 90s, 00s
We rehearse near London Bridge on Wednesday evenings (7-9pm)... with optional wine and snacks!
While getting together to rehearse is good fun (and a good stress relief) we also love to perform. We like to do gigs in pubs, street parties, community events, and every Christmas go busking for charity in tube stations. (We even sang at the Eden Project back in December!).
This year we've just started working towards a movie themed gig which we'll do in a cinema -- with a bunch of songs from the movies -- eg Top Gun, Fame, Blues Brothers. But don't worry there's still plenty of time to learn the songs.
While we always have sheet music when we're learning a song, don't worry if you can't read music well - not everyone in the group can. There's a lot of learning from each other by singing out loud and we also have audio "teach tracks" for every song. But we like to perform without music and (maybe slightly unusually) without a conductor as this makes us feel more engaged with the audience.
If you're interested, send a reply on here, and please do tell us something about yourself - eg any previous singing experience, what sort of music you like etc (at least so we know you're not a robot!) and we'll organise for you to come along to a rehearsal to see what it's like.
Or if you want to find out a little more /see some pics and videos, feel free to search "Kitsch in Sync" to see our website.
Thanks!
