Great opportunity to work as a Yard Shunter for our client – A Multi Award Winning supply chain specialist working with retailers.

Staffline is recruiting Yard Shunters to work in Aylesford.

The rate of pay is GBP16.53 to GBP25.42 per hour

This is a full–time role working 4 on 4 off. The hours of work are:

– 6pm to 6am

Your Time at Work

As a Yard Shunter, your duties include:

– Place trailers in the required areas as per instruction

– Undertake effective yard management ensuring all Site Rules are adhered to

– Support the continuity of Warehouse operations and processes

– Maintain contact with areas of the operation as necessary

– Ensure all safety checks are carried out as designated by the Company.

– Ensure that defects, accident damage and any incidents are reported as soon as they are found.

– Ensure fridges are set at the correct temperature, in line with loaded product temperature requirements.

– Ensure fridge diesel tanks have adequate fuel at all times.

– Report any breaches in speed limits by drivers and sub contractors to the office.

– Keep vehicle parking area layouts as they should be and report any issues of debris to the office

– Ensure that Company standards of hygiene and housekeeping, are maintained at all times

– Adhere to Health & Safety legislation

Our Perfect Worker

– Physically fit to work in Warehouse environment and 12 hour shift pattern

– Full C+E entitlement with an in–date CPC and Tacho Card.

– Working with and driving LGV's

– Previous shunting experience

– Manual Handling procedures

– Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance

– Fridge knowledge

– Ability to work to challenging deadlines in a pressurised and time–critical environment

– Excellent verbal and written communication
