Transport Planner – Development Planning

Location: Birmingham (Permanent)

Salary: 35,0000– 45,000

Are you a Transport Planner looking to grow your career working on development planning projects that shape communities across the UK?

We're working with a growing consultancy, well–regarded for providing high–quality transport advice and technical support to planning and development schemes nationwide. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative and technically strong team, working on varied and exciting projects.

Whether you're looking to build on your early career experience or take the next step in development planning, you'll be supported by experienced colleagues, involved in all stages of project delivery, and encouraged to progress professionally.

Your Role

You'll play a key role in delivering transport planning services, including:

Preparing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, and Travel PlansCarrying out site access appraisals, junction capacity assessments, and parking reviewsSupporting transport chapters for Environmental StatementsLiaising with clients, local authorities, and stakeholdersAssisting with project management and proposal preparationAnalysing transport data using TRICS, Junctions (PICADY/ARCADY), and TEMProWho We're Looking For

Minimum 2 years' experience in UK transport/development planningStrong understanding of the UK planning system and relevant transport guidance (e.g. NPPF, Manual for Streets)Proficient in technical analysis tools and technical report writingDegree in Transport Planning, Geography, Civil Engineering, or related fieldExcellent communication skills – written and verbalEnthusiastic, proactive, and keen to develop your careerWhy Join?
