Location: Wessex Lodge School, Frome, Somerset BA11 4LA

Salary: GBP13.25 per hour

Hours: From 15 hours per week Monday to Friday Rota TBC

Contract: Permanent Term Time Only

Driving: Full UK Driving Licence required

Start: November 2025

Age Requirement: Over 18's only due to lone working

As part of our continued growth, we are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Lunch Site Support Assistant to join our close-knit team at Wessex Lodge School.

About the Role

As the Lunch Site Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining high standards of food preparation, hygiene, and care, ensuring pupils and staff enjoy safe, nutritious meals in a welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and serve breakfast, breaktime, and lunchtime meals to pupils and staffMaintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in kitchen and dining areasManage stock, place food orders, and monitor suppliesComply with Health & Safety, food safety, and hygiene legislationSupport pupil care by being aware of allergies and following safeguarding proceduresUndertake additional cleaning tasks to maintain overall standardsAssist in minor first aid incidents under the guidance of the registered first aiderContribute positively to the school environment as part of the teamPerson Specification

Knowledge of food safety, COSHH, and cleaning best practicesFlexible, reliable, and able to work independently or in a teamGood personal hygiene and ability to follow instructionsAbility to build positive relationships with pupils and staffPhysically capable of carrying out manual tasks, including liftingWillingness to undertake training and adapt to school needsThis is a hands-on, rewarding role where your work directly contributes to the wellbeing, safety, and happiness of our pupils every day.

About Us

Wessex Lodge School currently comprises of three sites: Wessex Lodge Primary School located in Kilmington, Wessex Lodge Secondary School located in Frome, and Newmead Farm, located in Maiden Bradley. All sites allow students the opportunity to explore the curriculum alongside a range of subject paths, including the likes of, animal care, horticulture, DT, and forest school, as well as sporting activities.

Our students are aged between 6 and 18 years old. Each student has individual needs and, supported by the THRIVE approach, through a proven range of practitioner-led services and our talented staff, we can help to improve life outcomes for every student.

The established staff team come from a variety of previous occupations and have a vast range of individual skills, which can be utilised, within this school.
