Description
This is a highly strategic role focused on embedding governance, developing procurement capability and ensuring the authority is equipped to support future growth and procurement activity.

A newly established local authority in the North of England.
Description
Provide strategic leadership for the procurement function.
Review and enhance procurement governance, policies and procedures.
Develop and implement robust contract procedure rules and procurement frameworks.
Advise senior stakeholders on routes to market and procurement best practice.
Assess future procurement requirements and establish a suitable operating model.
Lead discussions around procurement systems and technology requirements.
Ensure compliance with relevant procurement legislation and internal governance requirements.
Support the authority in developing a sustainable long-term procurement strategy.
Prepare the organisation for the appointment of a permanent Head of Procurement.Profile
Previous experience operating at Head of Procurement level or above.
Strong public sector procurement experience.
Proven track record of procurement transformation and function set-up.
Experience implementing governance frameworks, policies and procedures.
Ability to influence senior stakeholders and operate autonomously.
Strong understanding of procurement legislation and compliance requirements.
Experience establishing new procurement functions within emerging organisations would be highly advantageous. xjnqpsq Job Offer
