HGV Class 2 Refuse Collection Driver

Location: Brecklands, Watton, IP25

Pay: 15.52 per hour

Duration: Temporary ongoing – 40 hours a week for 12 weeks and then possibility to go permanent

Hours: 05:45am – 14:15pm (hours may differ due to being on task and finish)

Potential: Permanent position available for the right candidate

The Role

We are currently recruiting for HGV Class 2 Drivers to join a busy refuse and recycling collection team in Watton.

You will be responsible for carrying out daily food waste, refuse and recycling collections, working as part of a team to complete routes safely and efficiently.

The role operates on a Task & Finish basis, meaning finish times may vary depending on how quickly the daily route is completed.

Your Responsibilities

Carry out daily refuse, recycling and food waste collectionsOperate collection vehicles and associated machinery safelyAssist refuse loaders while out on your roundsUse in–cab technology and mobile devices as requiredComplete relevant paperwork and records in real timeCarry out daily vehicle and machinery checksReport any defects or issuesMaintain the cleanliness of vehicles and machineryFollow safe lifting and handling proceduresMaintain excellent customer service when dealing with members of the public and other road usersWork effectively as part of a team to complete routes within the required service levels

Requirements

Valid HGV Class 2 licenceNo more than 6 penalty pointsValid Driver CPCGood communication and interpersonal skillsReliable and self–motivatedWilling to undertake a variety of tasksWillingness to assist refuse loaders as part of the collection teamPrevious refuse/recycling experience is desirable but not essentialApply today for an immediate opportunity with guaranteed full–time hours and potential for a permanent position.
