Construction Van Driver & Labourer – South East London

Immediate Start | Full-Time | Local Work Only

We are a busy loft conversion company based in South East London seeking a reliable, experienced Van Driver / Labourer to join us on a permanent basis. This hands-on role combines driving our company van with practical site labouring, focusing on building materials handling, site organisation, and general construction support.

Main Duties:

• Ordering, collecting, and delivering building materials to various sites across South East London

• Manually loading/unloading materials, including lifting and carrying items up and down scaffolding (regular heavy lifting involved)

• Clearing, tidying, and organising construction sites to maintain a safe and efficient working environment

• Transporting tools and equipment between sites

• Performing general labouring tasks such as demolition work, site cleaning, waste removal, and basic building activities (e.g., installing insulation, fixing plasterboard, and supporting trades)

Key Requirements:

• Full, clean UK driving licence held for at least 5 years (essential)

• Previous experience working in construction, with a solid understanding of common building materials

• Hardworking, physically fit, and able to undertake manual labour in all weather conditions

• Punctual, reliable, and able to use common sense to solve day-to-day issues

• Live locally in or very near South East London (to allow easy collection/drop-off of the van before/after shifts)

• No criminal convictions

• UTR number

Hours & Location:

• Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 5:00pm (45–50 hours/week typical, with occasional early starts and optional Saturday work available)

• All projects are local to South East London – no long-distance travel

• Company van collected from base in the morning and returned at end of day (business use only)
