Paxman specialises in transforming IKEA PAX wardrobes into fully customised, built-in furniture with bespoke doors.
We’re looking for a reliable and detail-oriented assistant to join us on a trial basis, working one day per week for 4 weeks. This is an entry-level role, ideal for someone looking to learn hands-on skills in a growing, specialist business. It could also suit someone looking for part-time work or semi-retirement.
What you’ll be doing:

- Supporting with the production and finishing of wardrobe doors
- Helping with on-site installations when required
- General workshop assistance, including handling materials and keeping the workspace organised
What we’re looking for:
- Strong attention to detail and a careful approach to work
- Ability to understand and communicate in English fluently
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions
- Physically capable of lifting and handling large wardrobe doors (approx. 50cm x 220cm)
- Your own transport (Essential)
- Punctual, reliable, and hardworking
- Experience assembling flat-pack furniture (e.g. IKEA) is beneficial but not essential
What you’ll get:
- Hands-on experience in a furniture making workshop
- Opportunity to learn and develop practical skills
- Flexible working day/times
- Potential for ad hoc ongoing work if the trial is successful
