Tutor of Sport and Functional Skills

Strategy Education are working with a training centre in Clacton, Essex who are recruiting for a Tutor of Sports and Functional Skills.

The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to helping students achieve their academic goals. This role involves working closely with young people aged 16-19, providing delivery in Sports, Personal Development and Functional Skills in English and Maths.

Duties

* Engagement and Delivery: Deliver Functional Skills Maths and English from Entry level though to Level 2, across the vocational programme.

* Deliver the Sports and Personal Development programme to students, alongside Fundamental British Values and the wider curriculum.

* Support students undergoing Functional Skills examinations.

* Tailored Support: Customise sessions to address the unique needs of student groups.

* Student Development: Implement student-centered programs emphasising softer outcomes to facilitate positive progression into adulthood.

* Liaise with the wider team regarding safeguarding, attendance, progress and achievements.

Qualifications

* The successful applicant will need to hold a full assessor’s award, TAQA or equivalent and have experience of delivering Functional Skills in English and Maths.

* Must be vocationally competent in Sports either through qualifications or experience.

A minimum of 3 years’ experience of classroom delivery and assessment is preferred.

Days of work: Monday to Thursday 8.45am to 5.15 pm, 32 hours per week.

Actual salary dependent on qualifications and experience.
