The Role

You will play a vital part in supporting class teachers, helping create a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment for pupils of all abilities. Your duties may include:

Supporting lessons and classroom activities

Providing individual and small-group interventions

Adapting activities and learning resources to meet varying needs

Offering 1:1 support to pupils with additional needs

Encouraging positive engagement and behaviour

Promoting pupils’ confidence, independence and social skills

Supporting established classroom routines and behaviour policies

Providing feedback to teachers about pupil progress

Upholding school safeguarding procedures at all times

Skills and Experience

At least 6 months’ experience in a school or education setting

Experience supporting primary-aged children

Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable, but not essential with relevant experience

Experience supporting pupils with SEND is a bonus

Confidence delivering support in whole-class, small-group and 1:1 settings

Strong communication and relationship-building skills

Positive, patient xjnqpsq and proactive approach to learning and behaviour

Ability to provide references covering your most recent 24 months

Willingness to complete an enhanced Child DBS if not already held

Location and Package

Based in Burton-on-Trent and surrounding areas

Daily rate: £95.00 - £109.25

Flexible start from October 2026
