Trainee SEN Teaching Assistant / Trainee Tutor (SEN / SEND / ASD) – September 2026 Start

Location: East Grinstead, West Sussex (Specialist SEN School)

Salary: 24,303 per annum

Hours: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)

Start Date: September 2026

This is an exciting opportunity to join a specialist SEN school in East Grinstead as a Trainee SEN Teaching Assistant / Trainee Tutor. The Role

You will work closely with experienced teachers and SEN staff to help students access learning, build confidence, and develop independence in a structured and nurturing setting:

Key Responsibilities

Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groupsAssisting with learning, communication, and behaviour supportSupporting students with Autism (ASD), SEND, and complex needsEncouraging independence, engagement, and social developmentSupporting sensory activities and structured learning tasksProviding personal care and physical support where required
