Job Role: Teaching Assistant

Start Date: September 2025

Location: Northampton

Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only

Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience and qualifications)

Here at Aspire People, we are on the lookout for quality teaching assistants to join our wonderful partner school, based in Northampton, who provides high-quality education for children and young people with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, autism spectrum conditions, and other complex learning profiles. The staff at the school are dedicated to delivering a personalised, nurturing, and inclusive educational experience where every student can achieve their full potential.

The Role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with teachers and the wider multi-disciplinary team to support students both inside and outside the classroom. You'll play a key role in helping to deliver tailored learning, develop students' confidence, and encourage positive engagement with education.

Key Responsibilities:

* Supporting students in their learning and development across a range of subjects

* Promoting positive behaviour and emotional well-being

* Providing 1:1 and small group interventions

* Assisting with planning and delivering engaging, accessible lessons

* Contributing to a safe, respectful, and inclusive school environment

About You

* Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an SEN or SEMH setting

* A calm, compassionate, and patient approach

* Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with students and staff

* A genuine passion for education and supporting vulnerable learners

* Minimum Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or willingness to work towards)
