Job Advert: Teaching Assistant/Youth Worker (Specialist Support for Children with SEMH, ASD, ADHD & Severe Needs)

Location: Various Schools - Greenwich and Lewisham

Job Type: Full-time, Monday to Friday (8:20 AM - 3:30 PM)

Salary: Competitive, based on experience

Start Date: ASAP

About the Role:

TimePlan is seeking passionate and experienced Youth Workers to join our team to support children with special educational needs, including SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health), ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), ADHD, and severe needs. You will be working on a 1-1 basis with children who have EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plans), providing the necessary support to help them achieve their educational goals and thrive within the school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Support children with SEMH, ASD, ADHD, or other severe needs on a 1-1 basis in the classroom.

Assist with daily activities, ensuring children are fully engaged in their learning.

Follow and implement the child's EHCP, adapting support based on individual needs.

Collaborate closely with the class teacher and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to ensure tailored support for each child.

Provide emotional, behavioural, and practical support to help children manage challenges and achieve positive outcomes.

Promote a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.Key Requirements:

Experience in working with children with SEMH, ASD, ADHD, or severe needs is essential.

Previous experience in 1-1 support roles with children on EHCPs is highly desirable.

A positive and patient attitude, with the ability to engage and motivate children.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.Working Hours:

Monday to Friday, from 8:20 AM to 3:30 PM
