Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them reach their full potential? We are looking for a caring, patient and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming special educational needs school in Walthamstow.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who wants to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

About the Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide tailored support for pupils with a range of additional needs. You will help create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment where every child feels supported, valued and encouraged to achieve their best.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with additional needs.

Assist teachers in delivering engaging and accessible learning activities.

Support pupils with communication, social interaction, emotional regulation and independence.

Adapt activities to meet individual learning needs and abilities.

Promote positive behaviour and encourage pupil participation.

Help maintain a safe, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.

Work collaboratively with teachers, parents and other professionals to support pupil development.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is:

Patient, caring, compassionate and enthusiastic.

Passionate about supporting children with special educational needs.

A strong communicator with excellent teamwork skills.

Flexible, proactive and able to adapt to different situations.

Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Experienced in SEN, autism, ADHD or other additional needs (desirable, but not essential if training is provided).

Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or in a similar role would be beneficial.
