Affinity Partnerships is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of Orchard Hill College & Academy Trust for a caring, dedicated, and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to join the team at Arbour Vale School.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them access learning, develop independence, and achieve their full potential in a supportive and inclusive environment.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and specialist staff to provide high-quality support both in the classroom and through targeted interventions. You will play a vital role in promoting student progress, wellbeing, confidence, and engagement in learning.

Key Responsibilities

Support students with SEND on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.

Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive learning activities.

Help pupils develop communication, social, and independence skills.

Adapt resources and activities to meet individual learning needs.

Monitor student progress and contribute to reviews and support plans.

Promote positive behaviour and help create a safe, nurturing learning environment.

Work collaboratively with teaching staff, families, and external professionals.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

Passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs.

Patient, caring, and committed to inclusive education.

A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.

Able to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.

Experienced in education, care, youth work, or a similar support role.Experience supporting pupils with Autism (ASC), Speech and Language Needs, Complex Learning Needs, ADHD, Physical Disabilities, or SEMH needs would be an advantage.
