Description

SEND Teaching Assistant / Behaviour Mentor – Make a Real Difference!

Full Time • Cornwall • Immediate & Rolling Applications

Do you want to inspire, motivate, and change lives?

If your answer is YES – this is the role for you!

We’re looking for enthusiastic, resilient, and compassionate individuals to join our amazing team supporting learners with a wide range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Our pupils deserve the very best guidance, care, and encouragement to help them achieve their potential.

This unique role combines the nurturing support of a SEND Teaching Assistant with the challenge and reward of a Behaviour Mentor. You’ll work within school settings and with young people aged 11–16 in PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) environments – including those with Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs or who have faced challenges such as young offender backgrounds.

Your role will include:

Supporting pupils 1:1, in small groups, and in class to achieve learning and personal goals

Helping to plan, prepare, and deliver engaging learning activities under teacher guidance

Using consistent behaviour regulation strategies to maintain a calm, positive environment

Building confidence, independence, and life skills in young people

Offering guidance and emotional support both in and out of the classroom

We’re looking for people who:

Are resilient, empathetic, and passionate about supporting young people

Have experience (or a strong interest) in working with SEND, SEMH, or challenging behaviours

Can communicate clearly and adapt to different learning needs

Hold an Enhanced DBS for the Child Workforce (or are willing to apply)

In return, you’ll get:

Excellent daily rates paid via PAYE

Guaranteed pay scheme (subject to availability)

Ongoing CPD and career development

Pension contributions

Support from a dedicated consultant

A friendly, supportive team where your role truly matters
