Horizon Teachers are pleased to be working with a welcoming Primary School in Lewisham who are seeking a dedicated part-time SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team for the summer term.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference by supporting a pupil on a 1:1 basis, helping them thrive both in and out of the classroom. The role is mornings only, making it ideal for someone looking for a part-time position while still having a meaningful impact each day.

The working hours are 9am - 12:30pm, Monday - Friday, term time only.

The school is conveniently located within walking distance of a mainline train station, and there is the potential for the role to continue into September for the right person.

What you’ll be doing

Supporting a child on a 1:1 and helping them progress academically, socially, and emotionally.

Working closely with the class teacher to adapt activities and resources to meet the pupil’s individual needs.

Encouraging independence, developing social skills, and boosting self-esteem.

Providing personal care when required, such as assisting with toileting and supporting at mealtimes.

Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and families.

Experience supporting children with SEND in a school setting or within a similar care-focused role.

A flexible approach and willingness to support across different year groups where needed.

A patient, empathetic, and reliable individual who is confident supporting both learning and personal care.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a supportive team.

A genuine passion for helping children grow, succeed, and feel their very best every day.
