Alternative Provision Teacher (English / PSHE / Drama / General Cover)

Location: Ormskirk

Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)

Contract: Full Time, Permanent (Part Time considered)

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:15pm (Term Time Only)

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and resilient Teacher to join an Alternative Provision setting in Ormskirk, working with pupils in Years 10 and 11.

This is a varied role, delivering English, PSHE, Drama, and general cover lessons to students who may be disengaged from mainstream education. You'll play a key role in rebuilding confidence, supporting behaviour, and helping pupils achieve positive outcomes both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver engaging and adaptable lessons across English, PSHE, Drama, and general subjects

Differentiate teaching to meet a range of needs, including SEMH

Manage behaviour effectively and create a calm, supportive environment

Track and monitor pupil progress

Build strong relationships to support engagement and wellbeing

Work closely with staff, families, and external professionals

What We're Looking For

QTS (or equivalent) - unqualified teachers with relevant experience considered

Experience teaching at secondary level (KS4 desirable)

Strong behaviour management skills

Experience with SEMH or Alternative Provision (desirable)

A flexible, patient, and resilient approach

Passion for supporting young people who need additional support
