Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant – Blackburn

Location: Blackburn

Position: SEN Teaching Assistant (Full-Time)

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Are you a passionate, patient and dedicated individual looking to make a real difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are currently seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school in Blackburn.

About the Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to support students with a range of special educational needs including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and other learning barriers. This is a full-time position, ideally suited to someone with previous experience in a similar role or a strong passion for working with children with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN

Assisting in the delivery of tailored learning programmes

Supporting pupils with personal care (if required)

Helping to create a safe, positive and inclusive classroom environment

Collaborating with teaching staff, therapists and parents/carers

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Previous experience working with children with SEN (in school or care settings)

A calm, nurturing and empathetic approach

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

The ability to build strong, positive relationships with pupils and staff

A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools) is desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
