SEN Teaching Assistant (Experience Essential)

Location: Southwark, London

Pay Range: £90 – £108.65 per day

Contract Type: Temporary, Full-Time

We’re recruiting an experienced and highly capable SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Southwark. This role is strictly suited to candidates with proven SEN experience, as you will be working closely with pupils who require consistent, skilled, and confident support to access learning and thrive in school.

The Role – SEN Teaching Assistant

You will provide targeted 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs, supporting both learning and emotional regulation. You’ll be expected to confidently implement individual education plans, manage behaviour effectively, and adapt strategies to meet each child’s needs. This role requires experience, resilience, and a calm, professional approach.

Role Requirements – Experience Is Essential:

*

Proven experience supporting children with SEN in a primary school setting (essential)

*

Confidence supporting pupils with needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or speech & language difficulties

*

Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations

*

Experience following and implementing EHCPs and SEN support plans

*

Excellent communication skills and ability to work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals

*

A patient, consistent, and proactive approach

*

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

*

Full-time availability from the specified start date
