Description
Year 2 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant
If you enjoy helping children feel grounded and ready to learn, this role could be for you. You’ll work with a Year 2 pupil who benefits from predictable routines, gentle reassurance, and activities that match their developmental stage.
Responsibilities
*
Provide 1:1 support throughout the school day.
*
Use visuals, task breaks, and pace changes to maintain focus.
*
Support curriculum work at an early years developmental level.
*
Help with sensory regulation and calm transitions.
*
Work closely with the teacher and SENCO to adapt strategies.
*
Build engagement through interests like Numberblocks or tablet based learning.
Requirements
*
Experience supporting children with SEN (ideally school based)
*
Understanding of sensory needs and how to scaffold tasks.
*
Confidence supporting a child who may avoid support.
*
A calm, patient approach when things feel challenging.
*
Full time availability from as soon as possible.
