SEN Teaching Assistant – Full–Time Role in Blackburn (Start January)

Location: Blackburn

Start Date: January

Contract: Full–time, Monday–Friday

Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a primary–aged child with Autism (ASD) and ADHD in a welcoming Blackburn primary school.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in SEN support, behaviour management, or classroom assistance who wants to make a real difference in a child's education.

Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with ASD and ADHD throughout the school day.Help the child engage in learning, follow routines, and develop social and communication skills.Support behaviour regulation and emotional well–being using positive strategies.Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to create an inclusive learning environment.

Requirements

Available Monday to Friday (full–time).Previous experience in SEN, behaviour support, or classroom assistance (preferred).Ability to use consistent behaviour–management strategies and de–escalation techniques.Strong communication and teamwork skills.A proactive, compassionate approach to supporting children with diverse needs.DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
