SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Berkeley UK

Salary: 110– 115per day

Contract: Full–time, temp–perm

Hours: Monday–Friday 08:30–15:30

Prospero Teaching are seeking an experienced and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a Special Educational Needs school in Berkeley. The successful candidate will work with children with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilites (PMLD), helping them to achieve their full potential in a safe and supportive environment.

Responsibilities:

Providing support to children with SEN needs in both individual and group settingsCreating and delivering engaging and inclusive learning activities that cater to the specific needs of each childCollaborating with teachers and other professionals to develop individual education plans (IEPs) for each childEncouraging positive behaviour and providing guidance and support to children to help them manage their emotionsBuilding positive relationships with children, parents and staff membersMonitoring and reporting on the progress of children, and adjusting teaching methods as necessaryRequirements:

Previous experience working with children with SEN needs is essentialRelevant qualifications (e.g. Level 3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE Diploma in Childcare and Education)Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsPatience, empathy and a positive attitude towards working with childrenA good understanding of safeguarding proceduresThe ability to work collaboratively as part of a teamThis is a temporary role with the possibility of extension, starting as soon as possible.
