Description

Are you a compassionate and skilled SEN Teaching Assistant ready to make a real difference? A friendly and inclusive primary school in Islington is seeking an exceptional practitioner to provide 1:1 support for a Year 3 pupil with complex autism and non-verbal communication needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to join a dedicated team and contribute meaningfully to a child’s development in a nurturing environment.

About the School

Nestled in the heart of Islington, this vibrant community school is celebrated for its warm, collaborative atmosphere and commitment to inclusion. The staff work closely to ensure every child—regardless of need—receives a rich, personalised education. The school values creativity, empathy, and innovation in its approach to SEN support.

The Role

You’ll provide individualised support throughout the school day, using communication tools such as PECS, AAC, and visual aids to enhance understanding and engagement. Working alongside the class teacher, SENCO, therapists, and parents, you’ll help create a safe, stimulating environment where the child can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience supporting children with autism (non-verbal preferred)

• Patience, resilience, and a proactive approach

• Confidence in alternative communication strategies

• Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice

Why Join Teach Now?

• Competitive daily rates and consistent support from a dedicated consultant

• Opportunities for ongoing CPD and career development

• A caring, values-driven agency that prioritises well-being and work-life balance

• Make every day meaningful—apply today and help shape a child’s educational journey.
