Description

Rikama Education are working with a mainstream primary school, based in Dover who are looking to recruit a SEN Teaching Assistant o provide dedicated 1:1 support for a verbal Year 2 pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ensuring they can access learning, participate fully in school life, and develop both academically and socially within an inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

•Provide tailored 1:1 support to a Year 2 pupil with ASD, adapting strategies to meet individual needs.

•Assist with classroom activities, ensuring the pupil remains engaged, focused, and supported in their learning.

•Implement personalised strategies to promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and social interaction.

•Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver targeted interventions and support the pupil's individual education plan (IEP).

•Encourage independence while offering reassurance and guidance when needed.

•Support the development of communication, social skills, and peer relationships.

•Monitor and record progress, providing regular feedback to teaching staff and parents.

•Collaborate with external professionals (e.g. speech and language therapists) to implement specialist advice and strategies.

•Contribute to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

This is a full time position, due to start ASAP. Working Monday - Friday, 8:30 - 3:30. The position will be until October half term, possibly longer for the right candidate.
