Description

Are you passionate about making a real difference in children’s lives?

We’re looking for a compassionate and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a warm and inclusive primary school in Newham.

This role is more than classroom support—it’s about building trust, creating a safe space, and helping each child unlock their potential.

Why This Role Matters

You’ll work closely with a small number of children, helping them overcome barriers to learning, develop emotional resilience, and gain the confidence to thrive both academically and socially. This is your chance to be the steady, encouraging presence that can transform a child’s school experience.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Providing tailored 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs.

• Assisting with lesson delivery, adapting activities to suit individual learning styles.

• Implementing strategies to support behaviour, self-esteem, and emotional regulation.

• Collaborating with teachers, SENCO, and parents to create a holistic support network.

• Encouraging positive relationships and fostering a sense of belonging in the classroom.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience working with children with SEMH or other special educational needs.

• A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships.

• Resilience and a genuine passion for inclusive education.

Perks & Benefits

• Competitive daily rate (£85–£100).

• Supportive, experienced staff team and excellent CPD opportunities.

• Term-time hours (8:30am – 3:30pm) for a healthy work-life balance.

• A welcoming, diverse Newham school community.
