We're working with a forward–thinking secondary school in Bedford that's looking for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is the perfect role for someone considering a career in the education and training sector as a educational psychologist, youth justice, mental health, or social worker.

SEMH Teaching Assistant – Ideal for Psychology & Criminology Graduates

Location: Bedford

Full–Time Term Time Only

Hours: 08:30 – 15:30

Sector: Education and training

Pay: 90 – 100 per day Long–term to Permanent Opportunity

Are you a psychology or criminology graduate with a passion for supporting young people facing emotional and behavioural challenges as an SEMH Teaching Assistant?

About the Role:

Support students aged 11–16 with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needsWork closely with the SENCO, pastoral team, and external agencies to provide tailored supportDeliver 1:1 and small group interventions, promoting emotional regulation, self–esteem, and resilienceBe a positive role model, helping students re–engage with education in a safe, structured environment

Who We're Looking For:

A recent psychology or criminology graduate (2:1 or above preferred)Passionate about making a real impact on the lives of vulnerable young peopleCalm, empathetic, and able to build trusting relationshipsThe ability to commute to Bedford.Previous experience with young people or vulnerable groups (voluntary or paid) is a bonus, but not essential
