SEN Teaching Assistant

Description

Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to work in a range of mainstream and specialist schools in Hull, starting September 2025. These roles involve supporting children with special educational needs such as autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and learning disabilities.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced TAs or those looking to begin a career in SEN education. We are looking for individuals who are compassionate, resilient, and committed to helping every child reach their full potential.

Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils with SEN

Assist classroom teachers with learning activities and behaviour support

Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs

Encourage emotional regulation, communication, and independence

Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment

Requirements

Experience working with children or young people (in any setting)

A calm, patient and proactive approach to support

A genuine interest in working with pupils with additional needs

A DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one

Relevant training or qualifications (e.g. Team Teach, Autism Awareness) are beneficial but not essential
