SEMH Teaching Assistant – Brent
Salary: £85 – £110 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-time | Long-term
GSL Education is seeking a SEMH Teaching Assistant for a supportive special school in Brent, working with pupils who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. You will play a key role in promoting positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide tailored support to pupils with SEMH, both in groups and 1:1.
Use strategies to manage challenging behaviour effectively.
Support teaching staff in delivering an inclusive learning environment.
Build strong, positive relationships with pupils to encourage confidence and resilience.
Requirements:
Previous SEMH or alternative provision experience desirable.
Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
Knowledge of safeguarding and behaviour management strategies.
