This is a fantastic role for an enthusiastic, ambitious Science teacher (all subject specialists welcome) who is eager to develop in their career. Our Science department is a hardworking, supportive department, with a fun, friendly mix of teachers from different backgrounds and subject specialisms. A lot of our colleagues are experienced and long-standing members of the department but we also have some Early Career Teachers and some Trainee Teachers as well. We have a well-resourced curriculum (we teach AQA) and the Head of Department is open, supportive and always eager to always consider new, improved methods of teaching. The department works collaboratively, making the most of their protected co-planning time. We have 8 Science labs, a wealth of prep-rooms with good quality equipment and we have a healthy resource budget within the department as well. We benefit from a fantastic, supportive Lab Technician as well.We strongly believe in a healthy work-life balance so there is a streamlined approach to marking and assessment, which runs alongside digital tools to reduce teacher workload. Science is a popular subject at Winton and our students love to get involved in field trips and extra-curricular activities. The team is vibrant, energetic and loves to share ideas and work together to make every day interesting and rewarding.This is an opportunity to make a tangible impact on the lives of young people.About Lift Winton:We are a popular secondary school with a great reputation within the local community. The school boasts fantastic facilities, which includes a MUGA, a recently refurbished library and gymnasium, new music suite, dance studios, animal management area and expansive grounds. In addition to this, we have recently celebrated the opening of our brand new GBP5m expansion building, which includes a full size school hall, two state of the art science laboratories and two additional classrooms, as well as new toilet facilities.We are also pleased to have recently opened our renovated 'Inclusion Space' which has bespoke classrooms and breakout space for our nurture and SEND students.The school maintained a 'Good' grade in the latest visit by Ofsted in 2023. We pride ourselves on a culture of high support and high expectations, and we have excellent relationships with families and the community who work closely with us to ensure every child receives an excellent education.
