SEN Teaching Assistant - SLD School Setting - Rossendale

Start Date: ASAP

Location: Rossendale

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

Daily Rate: £13.89 - £15.89 per hour

Tradewind Recruitment is proud to be working in partnership with a specialist SEN school in Rossendale. We are looking to appoint a compassionate and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to support students aged 11-16 with Autism (ASC), PMLD and SLD .

This is a full-time role, starting as soon as possible, offering a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people with special educational needs.

About the Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting pupils with Autism, PMLD and SLD both in the classroom and on a 1:1 basis. You'll collaborate with teachers and therapists to create a supportive, structured learning environment that promotes independence, communication, and engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Supporting students with Autism, PMLD and SLD across a range of abilities and needs

Assisting with the implementation of EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) targets

Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing

Supporting the delivery of tailored lessons and activities

Encouraging social interaction and inclusion in school lifeThe Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Experience working with children or young people with SEN, particularly Autism

A calm, patient, and empathetic approach

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff

A commitment to professional development (CPD)

An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain oneWhat Tradewind Offers:
