School Cover Manager

Description

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Cover Manager to join a secondary school in Slough. The ideal candidate must have previous experience of managing cover within a school. They must be able to timetable cover, be able to liaise with various levels of management and staff. Be able to cover last minute roles and long term positions. Some cover may be necessary depending on the right person.

This is a temporary to permanent post for the right candidate starting ASAP continuing till December with a view to become permanent!

Responsibilities

* Develop and deliver comprehensive lesson plans that align with the curriculum and educational standards.

* Teach various various subjects, covering classes in absences of the teacher.

* Implement behaviour management strategies to maintain a conducive learning environment.

* Provide individual tutoring and support for students who require additional assistance.

* Assess student performance through assignments, tests, and projects, providing constructive feedback to promote improvement.

* Engage in scientific research projects that can be integrated into the classroom experience.

* Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress and any concerns.

* Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational practices and advancements in science.

Skills

* Experience in secondary education is advantageous

* Excellent communication skills to effectively convey complex information to students of varying abilities.

* Ability to proofread educational materials for clarity and accuracy.

* Strong organisational skills to manage classroom activities and resources efficiently.

* Experience in behaviour management techniques to foster a positive classroom atmosphere.

* A passion for educating young minds about the wonders of science.

* SIMS knowledge is a must.
