The Role

As a Nursery Practitioner, you will deliver high-quality care and Early Years education, supporting children’s individual learning, development and overall wellbeing. You’ll be hands-on throughout the nursery day, using play and everyday activities as learning opportunities.

Responsibilities

Providing a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for children

Supporting children’s physical, emotional, social and educational growth

Planning and delivering age-appropriate, engaging activities

Promoting learning through play, following the EYFS framework

Observing children and contributing to assessments and development records

Taking responsibility for Key Children when required

Maintaining a clean, organised and stimulating nursery environment

Following safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery procedures

Building positive relationships with parents and carers

Sharing relevant information on children’s learning and progress

Working closely with Room Leaders, Nursery Manager and other practitioners

Supporting Every Child

The nursery offers care and education from baby age to pre-school, with a strong focus on learning through play and supporting every child as an individual. Inclusive practice is central to the nursery ethos; previous experience supporting children with SEND, autism, ADHD, speech or language needs, or developmental differences would be an advantage, but is not essential.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this role, you will need:

Recognised Level 3 Early Years/Childcare qualification (essential)

Previous experience in a nursery or Early Years setting

Good understanding of the EYFS framework

Awareness of safeguarding within Early Years
