Learning Support Assistant

Rural Lancashire Primary School - £500-£600 per week - Full-Time - Long-Term

Would you love to help children with Autism and additional needs discover their confidence in the classroom?

Are you looking for a small, welcoming school where colleagues share ideas, expertise and encouragement?

Could a Learning Support Assistant role surrounded by beautiful countryside be your next step?

A well-resourced mainstream primary school is looking for a compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join its supportive team. Led by a warm and dedicated headteacher, the school combines personalised classroom learning with a forest curriculum delivered by specialist teachers in its woodland grounds.

A valid driving licence and your own car are essential. The school's rural setting is inaccessible by public transport.

The Role - Learning Support Assistant

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will help children overcome barriers to learning, with a particular focus on Autism (ASD).

Your role will combine individual support with wider classroom involvement. Rather than assigning one adult permanently to each child, the school rotates 1:1 support so children develop confidence and positive relationships across the staff team.

Your responsibilities will include:

Making learning accessible through adapted activities and clear explanations

Supporting Numeracy, Literacy and the wider primary curriculum

Helping children communicate their needs and manage their emotions

Encouraging friendships, independence and participation
