Job Title: Learning Support Assistant (Level 2+ Teaching Assistant)

Location: Castle Cary, Somerset

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: £89–£100 per day

Working Pattern: Full-time, Long-term

Do you hold a Level 2 (or above) Teaching Assistant qualification and have a passion for helping students thrive in a secondary school environment?

TeacherActive is proud to be supporting a well-regarded secondary school in Castle Cary that is seeking a committed Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team as soon as possible. This full-time, long-term role involves providing targeted support to pupils with SEND, both within small-group interventions and in mainstream classroom settings.

The school is known for its inclusive ethos and strong pastoral support. You’ll work alongside experienced teachers, SEN staff, and pastoral leads to deliver high-quality support and help students achieve their individual goals.

The successful candidate will:

Hold a Level 2 or higher Teaching Assistant qualification

Have experience supporting children or young people with SEND (secondary experience beneficial but not essential)

Be patient, reliable, and confident working with learners who have a range of needs

Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external agencies to support personalised learning plans

Bring a positive, proactive attitude and a genuine commitment to making a difference each day
