Job Title: In Home Tutor

Salary: £30 - £35 per hour

Do you have experience supporting young people with SEMH needs?

Are you confident delivering Literacy and Numeracy on a 1:1 basis?

Do you have the ability to build strong, positive relationships with pupils outside of a classroom setting?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a local authority provision in Suffolk, supporting pupils who require education within their home environment. This setting focuses on providing consistent, tailored support to help young people re-engage with education in a safe and structured way.

The provision is looking to take on a dedicated In Home Tutor on a long-term, part-time basis, working 15 hours per week per pupil. The successful In Home Tutor will be delivering Literacy and Numeracy sessions to pupils with SEMH needs, requiring patience, adaptability, and strong behaviour management skills to support engagement and progress.

The successful In Home Tutor will have:

• Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs

• Strong knowledge of Literacy and Numeracy delivery

• Experience working in a 1:1 or alternative provision setting

• Ability to build positive relationships and engage disengaged learners

• Strong behaviour management and resilience

• A flexible and proactive approach
