Prospero Teaching – Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Prospero Teaching are seeking a highly motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our client schools team over in Portsmouth! You will be working across EYFS, KS1, and KS2. This role will involve covering PPA and potentially delivering small group intervention sessions.

Role details:

30 hours per week: 8:30am – 3:30pmMonday to Friday, term time onlyRate of pay: minimum 14.50P/h (Discuss with consultant)

We are looking for someone who:

Holds a relevant HLTA qualificationHas classroom experience working alongside teachersPossesses strong literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE Maths and English Grade C or equivalent)Has experience delivering small group interventionsDemonstrates strong behaviour management skillsCan confidently use ICT to enhance learningCommunicates clearly, positively, and with confidenceIs organised, proactive, and demonstrates a genuine 'can do' attitudeUnderstands children's emotions and behaviour, and works to remove barriers to progressShows resilience, flexibility, and resourcefulnessBrings a good sense of humour

The successful candidate will:

Work under the guidance of the class teacher or SLT within the classroom settingSupport pupils to stay focused and complete learning activitiesHelp manage children's social and emotional needs in collaboration with the class teacherAssist with assessment and contribute to reviewing pupil progressUphold confidentiality and safeguarding practices at all times
