Job Title: SEN Cover Supervisor

Location: Gloucester

Pay Rate: GBP100.15 – GBP140.23 per day (dependent on experience)

Hours: Full–Time 8:30am to 3:30pm

Smart Education is currently recruiting a compassionate and confident SEN Cover Supervisor to join an independent specialist school in Gloucester for autistic young people aged 7 16. About the Role:As an SEN Cover Supervisor, you will support the smooth running of classes in the absence of the class teacher, delivering pre–prepared lessons and ensuring students remain engaged and focused. You will work closely with Teaching Assistants and support staff to maintain a positive, structured learning environment for pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Your role will include:

Supervising classes across a range of subjects

Providing support to pupils with social, communication, and sensory needs

Managing behaviour effectively and promoting positive learning experiences

Ensuring lessons run smoothly and pupils are supported throughout the school day

Requirements:Experience working with pupils with autism or within a SEND setting

Strong behaviour management and communication skills

Ability to follow lesson plans and support individual learning needs

A calm, patient, and empathetic approach

Flexibility and confidence to supervise classes independently
