Are you an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant who thrives in outdoor environments and is passionate about pupil wellbeing through play and nature? A fantastic opportunity has arisen at a primary school in Lewisham for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to work across KS1 and KS2 as their dedicated OPAL Lead.

The school is looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant to promote structured, meaningful outdoor play during lunchtimes, while also supporting teaching and learning within the classroom setting. The role involves contributing to the wider curriculum, leading intervention groups, and acting as a role model for positive behaviour and active learning.

As the school's OPAL Lead, the Higher Level Teaching Assistant will help shape how outdoor spaces are used to encourage curiosity, collaboration, and resilience in children. You'll have creative freedom to design engaging outdoor activities that reflect the school's values and inspire every child to learn through movement and play.

The ideal Higher Level Teaching Assistant will have:

Recognised HLTA status or solid experience in a similar role

A strong interest in outdoor play and child–led learning

Experience supporting pupils in KS1 and KS2

An energetic and nurturing personality
