POSITION

EYFS Teaching Assistant

ABOUT THE SCHOOL

Prospero Teaching is looking for an Early Years Teaching Assistant for an Ofsted Outstanding Primary school in Leyton, Waltham Forest. The school is a popular three–form entry mainstream Primary School. With a highly supportive senior leadership team, the school continues to grow and invest in staff development through high–quality training opportunities. This role is open to skilled and experienced practitioners, with the possibility of extension or a permanent contract based on performance.

CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS

Location – Leyton, Waltham Forest

Position – EYFS Teaching Assistant

Type of work – Supporting Early Years learners both 1:1 and in small groups, delivering targeted SEN interventions, supporting learning through play, contributing to planning discussions and observations, and promoting independence and emotional regulation

Contract or position start date – 5th January 2026

Duration / Likely Duration – until end of the academic year July 2026

Contract type (temp/perm/temp to perm) – Temporary (with a view for an extension)

Full time/part time – Full time

Minimum rate of pay – Minimum rate GBP90 – 110 per day (DOE)

Hours – 8:00am – 15:30pm or 8:30am – 16:00pm: Mon – Fri (term time only)

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 1 year experience working in an Early Years setting (Nursery or Reception preferred)

Proven experience supporting pupils with a range of SEN needs (e.g. ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech & language delay, sensory needs)

Strong understanding of EYFS curriculum and play–based learning

Confident in communication with parents, SENCO and external agencies

Knowledge of behaviour regulation strategies and positive behaviour support

Up–to–date safeguarding training (or willingness to complete)

Relevant TA qualification (Level 2/3, CACHE, NNEB or equivalent) desirable

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

Hold Right to Work in the UK

Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application

Provide two professional child related references that cover at least the last two years
